On the a Memorandum of cooperation in the field of sports was signed by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis and the president of KMOP – Center for Social Action and Innovation, Dr. Antonia Torrens. The collaboration aims at preventing and combating the phenomenon of bullying in sports in the physical or cyber environment, as well as xenophobia, racism, hooliganism and homophobia in sport-related activities.
The Memorandum between the General Secretariate of Sports (GGA) and KMOP involves the planning and implementation of a series of informational, educational and awareness-raising activities on combating bullying against children, adolescents and young people, as well as the promotion of good patterns of behaviour in sports
KMOP – Center for Social Action and Innovation, which has been operating since 1977, has been implementing the innovative action “Live Without Bullying” (www.livewithoutbullying.com) since 2015, as a modern way to directly support children and adolescents with school and cyber bullying and in 2016 signed a Memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Religious affairs
Through the relevant online platform and corresponding mobile application, students (13 to 18 years old), parents and teachers can receive anonymous and free of charge counselling as well as digital training according to their needs. This programme is one of a kind in Greece and has been recognised as a good practice at a European context by Coface Families Europe.
